智行基金會成立於1998年，旨在為愛滋病人及其子女提供關愛及支援服務。自2002年起我們開始關注中國內地愛滋病人的遺孤，尤其重視他們在教育方面的支援，幫助他們重返校園。

我們將定於2007年3月23至25日(共三天 )，在中央圖書館展覽館舉行『關心愛滋全港慈善繪畫比賽』，詳情見隨信參加細則。是次活動的目的是希望讓香港的下一代有機會去認識國內受愛滋病影響的孤兒，同時也表達我們對他們的鼓勵、關懷及祝福。

為了加深貴校　有關老師對河南地區愛滋遺孤的生活實況及內心世界，以激發香港學童的想像力，我們特此舉辦一個工作坊，詳情如下：

I recently came across statistics reporting China water pollution and was deeply shocked and saddened by the magnitude of the problem.

China holds 22% of world's population but has access to only 7% of the earth's fresh water supply. Only 5% of household waste and 17% of industrial waste receive treatment before entering into local waterways.

700 million Chinese lack access to clean water. These 700 million people consume drinking water contaminated with animal/human or even industrial waste. The consumption of non-potable water is often the source for typhoid fever and roundworm infection. Such contaminated waters are known carcinogens for liver and stomach cancers. Despite this, people drink it because they have no choice!

38 million Chinese suffers from dental fluorosis and 2.8 million Chinese already have the crippling form of skeletal fluorosis, a consequence of excessive fluoride in the water supply in China. Environmental pollution and poverty are often highly correlated. Environment pollution leads to diseases, diseases exacerbates poverty, and poverty results in environmental neglect. Victims and especially children trapped in this vicious cycle are deprived of opportunities to grow up healthy and happy - a smile is a luxury expression.

Stride for a Cure 2006, our annual charity walk for cancer research, will once again be held at the scenic the Tai Tam Country Park on Sunday, 5th November 2006.

About the lecture:
Dr. Goodall?¦s lecture will cover highlights from her groundbreaking research on our closest relative ?V the Chimpanzee ?V in Gombe, East Africa, which are still ongoing today after 45 years. She will also share with us her experience from the past 20 years, travelling on average 300 days a year to speak about the threats facing chimpanzees, other environmental crises and her reasons for hope that humankind will ultimately solve these. Along her way, she has met people from all walks of life from teachers and students, to world leaders and other prominent figures such the Emperor and Empress of Japan and Charles the Prince of Wales.
