We went to Taipei for a friend's wedding. This turned out to be an eating trip where we enjoyed almost non-stop delicious food: healthy cooking with rock salt, wedding banquet, Japanese cuisine in Jin Shan (after having hot spring), excellent vegetarian meal and also beef noodle.
Hot spring in Jin Shan offers excellent mountain view and very good faciliites.

I was here for some business meetings and Irene joined me for the weekend and we had a great time visiting the Great Wall, ashame to say that this is only my first visit. Very impressed and moved because this is a very important landmark of our country. Also went to the Summer Palace during summer, my last visit was during the cold winter.

World HeritageMacau SAR is a small city and is one of the SARs (Special Administration Regions), it was returned to China in 1999 from Portuguses Government . The primary industry is the casino industry and is boosted in recently years by the government in issuing more gambling operating licences. We were here a short weekend break and to check out the new casinos (and we really really really hate the experience, since we are not gamblers and not smokers).

We went to Bali for the part I of our honeymoon. Summer is the best time to visit Bali, dry and sunny and the place has a lot to offer. From beaches to mountains, resorts and hotels with plenty of faciliities. You can also do some nice trekking here. There are quite a few temples, you can interact with the friendly local people and learn that they still practice many traditions of their religions (90% of Balinese are Hindus whereas Muslim is the main religion in most of Indonesia). People here really make use of the natural resources and make food and tools out of the available plantation in the area.

World HeritageWe did a day-trip to Java, flew from Denpasar (Bali) to Yogyakarta Airport (Java). We visited two great temples, namely, Borobudur and Prambanan both World Heritage sites for their historical importance. They are indeed very impressive! We also made a short visit to the Sultan Palace. Our tour guide called "Happy" is very very knowledgeable, highly recommended. Email us if you want his contact information.

Himeji, Japan, Asia, Apr 2004
Himeji, a thriving industrial port of 470,000, located on the scenic Inland Sea, has a world treasure at its center. With its tiled donjon and towers, its gates, earthen walls, massive stone foundations and ramparts, moat and grounds, Himeji Castle is a magnificent example of Japanese castle architecture.
We found it the most beautiful one with its garden among all the Japanese castles we have been to. During the sakura season, there were special performance in the garden and special lighting in the evening.
