Good menu and great food. We had shrimp soup, scallop sashimi, quail, sea bass, apple tart, warm chocolate. And we tried the best type of coffee (and expensive) called Kopi Luwak (look it up on wiki!), each cup even came with its own certificate!

Cafe Annam

From the name of the restaurant, we couldn't tell that it is a Vietnamese restaurant. The food is pretty decent and at reasonable cost.

We went to the premises at Peer Street, this is a private kitchen, located in a somewhat quiet and hard to find street. The food was great and very thoughtful. The tea was also specially selected.

A nice hidden gem in Mid-level, Mosque Junction can be hard to find.

Irene: Roast pig is really good, the meat is also crispy! It's a cozy atmosphere and all the dishes are of high standard.

A great restaurant with excellent service and a chef of 3 star michelin quality.
Executive Chef: Philippe Groult; Chef Propri?taire: Jo?l Robuchon.

We decided to try the many small dishes to get a flavour of wide variety of food. Quail, lobster, chicken soup, frog leg, oyster, shrimp and lamb. Chocolate dessert and coffee. All delicious!

Regarding the price, it is on the high side, even more expensive than say Caprice at Four Seasons and Pierre at Mandarin Oriental.

Irene: I don't really like the atmosphere of this restaurant. The showroom concept is like an upgraded fast food bar and the table area is not spacious enough. I prefer Pierre. Although food and service are of high quality, this amount of money can buy same quality of food and better dining atmosphere in other top restaurants. The private room is HK$5000 for lunch of six seat table and HK$8000 for dinner, the room is facing the terrace. Maybe better to pick the private room with friend to enjoy the whole evening with great food and cozy surrounding.

A newish Japanese restaurant in Causeway Bay with a Hong Kong chef (I think). Good value for money.

Matsuya Japanese

Japanese in Causeway Bay

Buffet Japanese dinner, quality is only so so, thus over priced... besides some of the food taste off. seems like the food are not fresh or expired. For this price, it's better to go to other places. Never go to this restaurant

One Bar

There is also a Chinese food section which is cheaper. Finding a place to have a quiet lunch in Central is such a headache! Tho' this restaurant is not on the cheap side, it's as noisy as Cafe de Coral. I should consider somewhere else next time.
