Yale Panel discussion on Hong Kong: 10 Years After the Handover.
The panel will be held on Tue, Sept 4 at the Hong Kong Club, right next to Ritz Carlton (630p for a reception, 7-8p for the panel, 8p for an optional dinner). The reception/panel is free and dinner costs $250. Attached is an event flyer. Those interested should sign up with Wei Dian at wei.dian@gmail.com by Aug 31.
Hong Kong at Year 10 as a Special Administrative Region of China is the subject of our panel, as we look back at Hong Kong's colonial legacy as well as ahead to the end of "One Country, Two Systems" in 2047. Come join us in a freewheeling discussion based on a common passion for Hong Kong . Our panelists and special guest represent four unique perspectives:
The New Generation: Simon Shen (Yale College '00SY, Yale Graduate School '00): Founder of the Roundtable Group -- passionate Hong Kongers in their 20s
The Professionals: Laurence L. Li (Yale College '94BK): Convener of the 30s Group -- young professionals interested in social service and public policy
The Thinkers: Kin-man Chan (Yale Graduate School '95): Founding member, Hong Kong Democratic Development Network
Special Guest and Media Gadfly: Muhammad Cohen, (Yale College, MC'78) journalist, author of " Hong Kong on Air"
Moderated by Edith Terry (Yale College '74PC): Former editor of the opinion pages, South China Morning Post
