Food Inc

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1286537/
A revealing documentary about the food supply in the States (perhaps soon elsewhere too), highly concentrated food supply, genetically modified crops, hormone assisted growth in packed farm, the truth about processed food, packaged food on the shelves of Supermarket, control of seed supply.

Very disturbing and scary truth indeed, we should all be more careful with our choice of food and sure hope people will value the importance of natural rather than man-made!

Zeitgeist

Documentary 2007 & 2008
I highly recommend this documentary (2 x 2 hours), you can even watch it online for free. http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com

We live in a society that we inherited from the generation before and they inherited it from the generation before them and so on, we accept many (perhaps too many) things without questions or doubt, we simply take it for granted, we follow the systems whatever they are, monetary, capitalism, moral and religious. Most of us go to school, get a job, work for the system in exchange for a salary to support our living expenses, we incur more expenses by taking out loans and in turns paying interests to the system and accept this as the norm of life without ever challenging the system. We are exposed to established religious without really understanding the root of their origin.

How is money created? Who controls it? How did Federal Reserved come into existence? Who fought against it and perished? What's the similarity between Jesus and the Egyptian Sun God? Is it a pure coincidence? Why did the World Trade towers collapse? Can the immense heat from a jumbo jet fuel alone do the job? Was the Pentagon struck by a plane? What happened to the remains of the plane? Why were Iraq and Afghanistan invaded? Who benefited from the wars? Why do so many financially poor resource rich small countries took on major infrastructure projects? What's the role of IMF and World Bank in these projects? Who exploited these small countries? Why is capitalism failing us? Is there an alternative? Why don't you hear about these before? Who's controlling what you watch and hear? How do people behind the scene manipulate public reaction?

Zeitgeist will give you a version of the answers to the above questions, it is up to you to interpret these answers and judge their credibility. The truth will shock you.

Perhaps the most important question that we should ask is "What should I do?"

If you don't want to know about the truth or would rather stay blind to what's going on around the world that affects everyone, then this movie is not for you. It requires patient to watch through 2 x 2 hours, the reward is well worth it.

Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room (buy from Amazon)

This is a documentary on the story of Enron, how the company has once risen to the 5th largest company in USA and then fell to become one of the biggest corporate scandals in history. Greed and arrogant have completely clouded the minds of the chair, CEO, CFO, executives and its traders to pursue highly profit at the expenses of the public by using fraudulent and creative accounting. Its fall also brought down one of the biggest accounting firms.
