Came here for business trip and stayed for the weekend. Visited new restaurants at Three on the Bund and also went to Madam Soong Ching Ling's Residence.
Koh Samui, Thailand, Asia, 4-8 Apr 2007
We went to Koh Samui for a short Easter break in 2007, nothing like the usual back-packer trip, this one is a relax, stay-in-the-hotel type of holiday as this is also a working holiday... Anyway, the weather was very hot and sunny, we enjoy swimming in the pool and eating at restaurants by the beach. We stayed at Bandara which is not in the town centre but not too far. The town has plenty of small shops for gifts, clothes and handicrafts.

Click photo to view albumSpent 2 days in Macau over Chinese New Year, not a smart choice actually, because there were so many tourists in the street and the pier was very crowded, hotel prices were expensive. Since we don't gamble at all, we went after the food and window-shopping. Enjoyed lunch at Don Alfonso 1890, a new Italian at the new Grand Lisbao Hotel and also a delicious dinner at Kita No Daichi at the Fisherman's Wharf. There was a pleasant surprise, we went pass this Culture exhibtion place and discovered there is a "small" library displaying the great work of Jin Yong, some in foreign languagers like English and Indonesian, some in comic book format.

Visited Taipei again with my parents and we enjoyed the local food very much. Also visit the observation deck of Taipei 101 Building (the tallest building in the world). Impressed by the lift that took us from 5th floor to 89th floor in just 37 Secs. You can also see the gaint damper to reduce swing induced by the strong wind.
Also visited the Museum that housed the treasures taken from the Forbidden City of Beijing, the museum has been revamped and is very nice.

We stayed a few days in Pokhara where you can do mountain fight, go hiking, boating etc. It is by the lake and it's such a relaxing time to read and eat at Boomerang restaurant. We took a 2-day hiking to Dhampus where you can get close to mountains of 8,000 m. This village has good facilities (hot water and electricity).

There are many interesting sights in Kathmandu. I like Bodhnath most. It's also nice to see sunset at Swayambhunath. Pashupatinath is good for experience and Patan has a great museum, don't forget to enjoy the garden next to the museum.

All very special
Dominic Review:
Friends from Taipei brought us to this place, excellent choice. It is cheaper to have lunch here than dinner, but then very hard to get a table in the evening. Everything is made in front of you at your own table. All ingredients are of top quality and are supposed to be very healthy also. They use a special type of rock salt.
Irene Review:
Interesting mix of ingredients. very fresh and delicious! The drink of chinese medicine is a bit rare. Comfortable seating both upstairs and downstairs.
