Canyonland, USA, N America, Sept 2002

(Sept 2002) It costs US$10 per private car to visit the park, the ticket is good for 7 days. Canyonland is very close to the Arches, but the rock formation is already very different. From the Grand View Point, you get a clear view of the Canyon. We think it looks like a huge foot print of a dinosur.

(Sept 2002) On our way from Capitol Reef to Bryce, you will drive pass Dixie Forest, a beautiful forest and in particular, we like the lake called Posey Lake. Very quiet and we were all by ourselves.

(Sept 2002) The park is free for most of the parts, except the scenic drive which costs US$5. Interesting scenic places including the hike through the Gorge and the Tanks. The Gorge is a narrow path with rock walls on either side. The Tanks are big pot holes formed by abrasion of small rocks against the river bed in a circular motion. It takes many many years to form holes of this size.

(Sept 2002) It costs US$20 per private car to visit the park, the ticket is good for 7 days. Zion is our favourite national park in Utah because it is the most beautiful, it is not as dry as Arches, in fact, it has rivers and plenty of trees. There is a lodge inside the park, remember to book well in advance. There are shuttle buses inside the park that take you to all the scenic spots, we like Emerald Pool walk, the river side walk and the weeping rocks.

(Sept 2002) Famous for as the host of winter Olympic, the sunset at the Salt Lake is very beautiful. Other attractions include the West Temple.

Why start a website on travelling?

We love travelling, the independent style! We like doing our own plan and research of each places that we visit. Through out the years, we have accumulated a lot of experience, photos and useful materials, we would like to share with others to our travel diary and hope to help others to enjoy the independent travel style.

A holiday that we took together with Candy and Keung. Hang Zhou though is very beautiful, you need to visit the place under certain weather, the best time would be when it is foggy. Unfortunately, we went there with clear sky and so it didn't bring out the best of Hang Zhou. So many poems have been written on this place, I'd love to go back again sometime.

Shanghai, China, Asia, Apr 2002

The rapid economic growth that Shanghai has been experiencing in the last 5 years has no doubt place it as one of the most "exciting cities" in the world. Shanghai continues to enjoy high growth while most other places in the world are suffering from sever economic downturns. If you are looking for natural scenes, then I am afraid, Shanghai doesn't offer much. But if you are looking for an exciting city life with nice places to hang out with friends and enjoy nice international cuisines, endless new shopping areas, then that's exactly what you find in Shanghai.

As many Hong Kongers are relocating to work in Shanghai, there are more reasons for us to visit this place, you never know, some day we may end up here too.
