We didn't know much about Ushuaia until we decided to go on the Antarctica trip and learned that the boat would be leaving from the port of this south most town on the planet. It is a nice small town that was initially serve as a prison, hints the museum at the old prison is a must-visit in order to understand the history of this town, it also a national park called Tierra del Fuego (Land of the Fire) National Park.
