Art Exihibition - John Li
I'm happy to welcome autumn for more hiking activities. The path behind where we live leading to the Peak is lovely and I like to go there more often. This weekend, we went to Cheung Chau for a short walk and visited my grand parents. Autumn also means a season of weddings. It will be fun to attend some of them.
The opening of exhibition at the Bella Vista Art Gallery was cozy. We're planning for a new one and a painting workshop in October. More details: Jamart
Enjoyed attending the bridal shower of one of my best friends! First time joinging a proper bridal shower.

North and Mid Vietnam
We went to North and Mid Vietnam during 21 Dec 2002 to 1 Jan 2003. It was an interesting trip and we enjoyed meeting many fellow travellers from different countries of the world. We were also glad to find out that we have visited all 4 recognised World Heritage sites in Vietnam, namely, Ha Long Bay, Hoi An Old Town, Hue and My Son (Note: now there is a fifth). Having said that, Ha Long Bay is very similar to Gui Lin of China; My Son is like a mini version of Angkor Wat of Cambodia. If you have been to these 2 places before, you won't be as impressed.

This restaurant has been open a year and serves organic food. It also sells bowls, wooden cheese boards, cookery books, cakes, take-away coffees etc
The interior is extremely well designed, with white walls and modern, Jasper Conran designed oak furniture, including a beautiful buffet to display glasses, bottles and a large collection of fabulous bowls. The upstairs dining room houses exhibitions, and is currently displaying Fiona Thomas? work. This adds to the pleasant ambience, as the lighting is extremely good, and the walls are equipped with hanging rails to ensure that the work is displayed properly...Read more

John Daily, a businessman who heads up a company and has a family and good life style, is failing miserably in each of his leadership roles as boss, husband, father, and coach. What went wrong? Find out from his weeklong retreat at a remote Benedictine monastery.
Is leadership born? or trained? This book explains the simple principles of a good and successful leader. One of the concepts is:
POWER = The ability to force others, by virtue of your position over them, to do what you wish them to do.
AUTHORITY = The ability to have others voluntarily do what you wish them to do as a result of the nature of your relationship with them and the example you set in front of them.
The principles can be applied to different situations of our life...Read more

How to make a story using 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 and 10
This was an assignment for a student who is taking English as a second
language. Keep this in mind when reading this one. Lim Ah Toy, a Chinese
student, was asked to make a sentence using 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and
10. Not only did he do it 1 to 10, he did it again from 10 back to 1. This
is what he came up with.
"1 day I go 2 climb up a 3 outside a house to peep. But couple saw me, so
I panic and 4 down. The man rush out and want to 5 with me. I run until I
feel 6 and throw up. I go to 7 eleven and grab some 8 to throw at him. Then I
took a 9 and try to stab him. 10 God he run away. So, I put the 9 back and
pay for the 8 and left 7 eleven. Next day, I call my boss and say I am 6.
He said 5, tomorrow also no need to come back 4 work. He also
ask me to climb a 3 and jump down. I don't understand, I so nice 2 him but
I don't know what he 1. THE END."
and Lim Ah Toy graduated from his ESL class with honor.
Eating grass
One afternoon, a well-to-do lawyer was riding in his shiny limousine
when he saw two men along the roadside eating grass.
Disturbed, he ordered his driver to stop and he got out to
investigate the situation.
He asked one man, "Why are you eating grass?"
"We don't have any money for food," the poor man replied. "We HAVE TO
EAT GRASS!"
The lawyer then said, "Well, then, you can come with me to my house
and I'll feed you!"
"But sir, I have a wife and two children with me. They are over
there, under that tree."
"Bring them along," the lawyer replied.
Turning to the other poor man he said, "You come with us, too."
The second man said, "But sir, I also have a wife and six children
with me!"
"Bring them all!" the lawyer answered. They all jammed into the huge
limo.
Once underway, one of the poor fellows turned to the lawyer and said,
"Sir, you are too kind. Thank you for taking all of us with you."
Genuinely touched, the lawyer replied, "Glad to do it. You'll really
love my place; the grass is almost a foot high!"
